The University of New Hampshire is participating in the second College Colors Day spirit competition and is asking for fan support to help win the national Spirit Cup award, which includes $10,000 toward the general scholarship fund.
By visiting facebook.com/collegecolorsday, Wildcat fans can register to vote for UNH as the school with the most college spirit and loyal fan base. After placing a vote, fans will have the opportunity to win prizes and discounts through an instant win game, view and submit photos to the College Colors Day fan photo gallery, and download a custom Facebook cover photo promoting UNH for College Colors Day.
“We want to encourage all students, alumni, staff, and fans to show their support for the Wildcats by voting for UNH as the institution with the most school spirit,” said Dot Sheehan, Senior Associate Athletic Director External Relations, University of New Hampshire. “With colleges and universities across the country vying for this top award, it is important that our fans visit Facebook to vote for our school.”
The Facebook-based rivalry competition, which includes more than 160 participating colleges and universities and is an element of this year’s 2013 College Colors Day celebration, kicks off Monday, Aug. 12 and runs through 11:59 PM EST on Thursday, Aug. 29. Fans can vote once each day and can check who is winning the competition nationally and within each conference. The winner will be announced on College Colors Day on Friday, Aug. 30.
College Colors Day 2013 is coming to the University of New Hampshire and is charging all alumni, current and incoming students, faculty, staff and UNH fans to show their Wildcat pride nationwide on Friday, Aug. 30, 2013.
College Colors Day coincides with both the back-to-school season in Durham and the kick off of your Wildcats’ 2013 football season. It is a national celebration that promotes the traditions and spirit that make college great by encouraging fans, alumni and students to wear apparel of their favorite college throughout the day on Aug. 30.
“It is the perfect day to show off your Wildcat pride on campus, at home or in the office. All you need to do is wear blue and white on Friday, August 30th,” said Sheehan.
Show your school spirit by wearing your Wildcat hats, earrings, T-shirts, ties, watches – anything blue and white – on Aug. 30th, and you’ll be part of one of the easiest yet most spirited holidays in America.
“Think of it as a dress rehearsal before the kick off of college football season and a reason to meet friends to talk about all UNH sports,” Sheehan added.
